It has only recently been announced that British, Hollywood actress Carey Mulligan and her boyfriend of five months, Mumford and Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford, have become engaged. Yet people have already started suggesting that the groom and his band will perform at the wedding.

BRITISH cutie CAREY MULLIGAN is being considered for a lead role in BAZ LUHRMANN’S adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

The Aussie Moulin Rouge director has already lined up LEONARDO DiCAPRIO to star, and the pair are rumoured to be after our own starlet Carey to play Daisy Buchanan.

That sounds like a great match!

Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan are believed to have put their romance on hold.

The stars began dating after they met on the set of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps last year. The couple preferred to keep a low-profile and were usually reluctant to discuss their relationship in public. It has now been claimed Shia and Carey have barely seen each other since the Wall Street sequel was released and the British actress is said to be keen to leave Los Angeles and spend more time at home with her family back in the UK.

Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley’s new film Never Let Me Go will launch this year’s BFI London Film Festival on 13 October.

The drama, directed by Mark Romanek, tells the tale of former boarding school pupils who confront their sheltered pasts.

It co-stars new Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield and is based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro.

The film will be released in the UK on 14 January, 2011.

The London Film Festival runs from 13-28 October, 2010.

Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller has written a script that Fox Searchlight is moving forward with Carey Mulligan and Jodie Foster attached to star.

The film is called STOKER and it tells the story of a quirky teenager that suffers through the death of her father, only to have her estranged uncle show up to help the family through the grieving process.  Mulligan would play the teenager while Foster would play her mother.

As children, Kathy (Mulligan), Ruth (Knightley) and Tommy (Garfield), spend their childhood at a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. As they grow into young adults, they find that they have to come to terms with the strength of the love they feel for each other, while preparing themselves for the haunting reality that awaits them.

The An Education star is hot favourite to take the lead in the film based on Ian McEwan’s acclaimed novella.

Kate Winslet’s ex Sam Mendes has signed on to direct the movie, which revolves around a newly married couple in the 1960s who are battling with their own fears about sex on their wedding night.

LaBeouf and Mulligan didn’t end their relationship after his failed proposal.

A source for National Enquirer explained why they are still together following the rejection, saying Mulligan “assured Shia she adores him, but she just isn’t anywhere near ready to talk about marriage and starting a family.”
